PhD Candidate

Hello! I am Heather, and I joined UConn in the Fall of 2021. Originally from Ohio, I went to undergrad at Boston University, before moving to CT to further my studies in molecular and cell biology. In the Goldhamer lab, I study satellite cells that have two key myogenic genes knocked out: MyoD and Myf5. These mutant satellite cells fail to undergo myogenesis, and I will be working on characterizing their transcriptome. When not doing science, I can often be found with a caffeinated beverage, cat, or out running!
